India-EU Higher Education Symposium
The India-EU Higher Education Symposium has taken place on Wednesday 12th November 2008 in the InterContinental THE GRAND New Delhi, Connaught Place.
The main objective of the India-EU Higher Education Symposium was to address EU-Indian higher education policy and cooperation issues. This event was a platform for high-level dialogue between government officials, key senior managers and policy makers from India and Europe and representatives from higher education institutions and academic networks.
The aims of the Symposium were to:
- Facilitate collaboration between EU and Indian higher education institutions
- Exchange information on policy issues and practices through sharing key development issues in academic cooperation between senior educationalists and policy leaders
- Create a forum for strategic and policy dialogue to enhance mutual understanding of priorities and possible future cooperation areas
- Identify common agendas, possible cooperation areas and to develop mutually beneficial collaborative projects.
Following the Symposium, matchmaking activities was organised to enable representatives from European and Indian higher education institutions to meet and discuss possibilities for future cooperation.
The India-EU Higher Education Symposium has been an event of the European Commission and was implemented by a consortium composed of three European agencies EUA, DAAD and Nuffic.
